History of the explorations of the submarine springs along the Oresei Gulf, Sardinia, Italy and the future frontiers of cave diving. Organized by the Speleological Federation of Sardinia.
The latest exploration in the Karst System East Supramonte (Golfo di Orosei-Sardinia), revealed a giant underground complex whose full exploration will take years and great commitment on the part of caving and cave diving.
Speleological research and cave diving developed well over 60 years, extending initially from the Grotta del Bue Marino in the territory of Dorgali until the Resurgence of Cala Luna (Baunei).
During the cave diving explorations also caves have been discovered that are not directly related to the karstic system of East Supramonte, but their development and depth counts among the most interesting and difficult in the Mediterranean.
